An intimate celebration in grand style

In mid-April, a small group of friends, supporters, and admirers of renowned photographer and journalist PhDr. Josef Louda gathered at the cozy Charleston music club in Prague’s Karlín district to wish him a happy 78th birthday. Together, they spent a delightful two hours reminiscing and celebrating the launch of his book Love (In)compatible with Life. The early evening gathering was hosted by Aleš Cibulka.

The book was christened by author Josef Louda together with Aleš Cibulka and, as seen in the photo from left to right, Jiří Balvín, Vladimír Jindřich, Eliška Hašková-Coolidge, and Bea Albrecht Pšeničková.

This time, the christening took an unconventional turn — with green Ferdinand beer from Benešov, brewed specially for the occasion.

Also joining the celebration was Mrs. Eliška Hašková-Coolidge, a prominent figure in Czech social life..

The warm, friendly atmosphere was enhanced by a performance from Bea Albrecht Pšeničková, a chanson singer of Puerto Rican origin.

Among the well-wishers were screenwriter Petr Markov and Pavel Janoš, known as the king of Czech gingerbread making.

The intimate space of the Charleston music club was filled to the very last seat.
