The beginning of 2026 was all about the Winter Olympics. Before they kicked off, everyone was on edge – wondering if everything would be ready in time and what the overall atmosphere would be like. It all went so smoothly that now, only a few weeks later, people have almost forgotten it happened. We live in an age of the ‘instant experience’. The moment a sensation fades, our attention shifts to the next thing on the horizon. To find out what the future holds for the Peugeot brand, we sat down with Martin Vodička, Sales Director at Autosalony Kopecký.

So, what does 2026 have in store for us from Peugeot?
As we teased in our last issue, the refreshed Peugeot 308 went on sale in January. The current facelift is exceptionally sharp – and that’s not just my personal take, it’s the consensus among our customers. It has already been put through its paces in various well-known motoring programmes, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. As we’ve come to expect from the brand, the model is available with a full range of powertrains: petrol with mild-hybrid tech, a plug-in hybrid, a fully electric version and the ever-popular diesel.
Currently, the brand is also unveiling a modernised Peugeot 408. The first photos surfaced in January, revealing a striking new look and a very sophisticated green metallic finish. There is even a diesel version in the works – something previously unavailable for this model. The brand has clearly decided to listen more closely to customer demands, and we’re convinced it’s the right way forward.
And what’s on the horizon for AUTOSALONY KOPECKÝ and their customers?
Last year, we successfully launched a new portal car wash in Prague, which we were incredibly excited about. Premium and efficient valeting for serviced vehicles is a vital part of the services we’ve mentioned before – it’s something our customers have long been accustomed to. It was actually quite funny; before the launch we were reaching a point where our technicians and sales staff were bickering over whose car would be washed first. With the new system in place, we’ve been able to increase our service capacity and, more importantly, harmonise communication between our service department and new car sales.
At our Vysočina branch, the construction of our brand-new facility is in full swing. As we mentioned last time, this was a long-overdue step. Naturally, building a project of this scale right next to our current site brings certain capacity constraints and temporary parking adjustments. We truly appreciate our customers’ patience during these few months. We believe the result – a sleek, modern space with even better services – will be well worth the wait.

With the holidays fast approaching, we couldn’t help but notice that one of your specialities is motorhome rentals. What’s in store for your customers here?
First and foremost, we’re delighted that our customers have started embracing motorhome travel outside the peak season. All our vehicles feature premium specifications and are fully equipped for winter camping as well. Many clients returning this autumn and spring have shared how much more enjoyable it is to travel off-season – the weather is milder and the roads are far less crowded. A motorhome is the perfect choice for those who enjoy moving around frequently and prefer
a more active holiday. Our most popular destinations are Italy, Spain and Portugal, or heading north to Norway and Denmark. As part of the Peugeot Boxer’s latest refresh, the brand now offers an automatic gearbox. Naturally, we’ve ordered new vehicles, and their custom conversions are currently being finalised.
You mentioned the Peugeot Boxer, which brings me to the shift towards electric vehicles. How is this affecting the commercial range?
Of course – when I mentioned that Peugeot offers an electric version of every model, that includes the entire commercial line-up, from the compact Partner and the Expert to the Boxer. That said, we’re pleased that the manufacturer ‘took its foot off the gas’ regarding the aggressive roll out of EVs last year. Their initial 2024 targets for the market share of electric vans were quite detached from market reality. There are certainly sectors where an electric van makes perfect sense and is the better option, but those industries are still limited. Particularly here, it will take significant investment in infrastructure before business owners feel truly confident making the switch. Electric vans, especially the smaller ones, have been a hit with municipal companies – think street lighting maintenance, park services or technical departments. These are typically firms where the vehicles are never straying too far from the depot. That said, we’re currently preparing some fresh additions to our B2B segment. We believe that by autumn, we’ll have something extra for both our existing and new corporate clients. Something that will give them a real reason to expand or modernise their fleet, or perhaps even switch their current brand for a Peugeot from Kopecký.
And final words? If you have any questions about purchasing a new car, scheduling a service, or if you’re simply looking for inspiration and considering becoming a ‘Peugeotist’ or BMW owner – perhaps you just want to hire a motorhome – you’ll find the experts at www.kopecky.cz. You can also follow us on social media. Currently, you can find AUTOSALONY KOPECKÝ at five locations across the Czech Republic (Prague, Vysoké Mýto, Bystřice nad Pernštejnem, Ústí nad Labem and Pardubice). Most importantly, don’t forget that we provide ‘ Services that are easy to get used to ’.
