LaserPlastic s.r.o. is a clinic that pushes the boundaries of aesthetic medicine in the Czech Republic. Its chief physician, MUDr. Marta Moidlová, heads a team that combines dermatology with plastic surgery and offers tailor-made solutions to patients. She talks about trends, ethics and why naturalness is preferred over artificial glitz in an exclusive interview she gave to Prestige.

Madam, your clinic LaserPlastic has an excellent reputation in the industry. How would you introduce the establishment to our readers?

Our clinic is a place where we combine laser and aesthetic dermatology with plastic surgery. Unlike others, we focus on every layer of the skin – from gentle non-invasive treatments that work more on the surface to complex surgical procedures. Thanks to our wide range of methods, we are able to design a tailor-made solution for each client and always ensure that the results are not only effective, but also natural and safe.

Aesthetic medicine has made tremendous progress in recent years. What do you consider to be the biggest trend of today?

There is definitely an emphasis on
non-invasive and minimally invasive methods.
Patients want fast results with minimal disruption to their normal lives. Therefore, ultrasound treatments, application of biostimulants such as Collagen Lift and Rejuran, or laser rejuvenation procedures are very
popular today. The trend is naturalness – a healthy and youthful look is preferred over radical transformations.

What do you think people most often expect from aesthetic procedures?

Often it’s not just about beauty, it’s about feeling good about oneself. Patients come to us because they want to look more relaxed, fresher, sometimes to address specific health problems that have been bothering them for a long time, such as pigmentation, excessive hair and sweating, various skin growths, but also wrinkles, loose skin, etc. Our goal is for them to not only leave satisfied with the result, but also more confident.

LaserPlastic offers plastic surgery in addition to dermatology. What can you say about the fusion of these specialisations?

It’s a big advantage. We have a team of specialists who can use gentle non-invasive procedures to delay the need for invasive procedures for up to many years and then prolong their effect. And when the time comes for such procedures, our plastic surgeons will fill in and adjust what dermatology is currently unable to achieve. This way, the patient always receives the recommendation that is optimal for them. Whether it’s a facelift, eyelid reshaping or a minor skin treatment, we’re always looking for the most gentle way to get the job done.

Psychology also plays a role in aesthetic medicine. How do you view the relationship between beauty and mental well-being?

I view them as closely interrelated. A person who is happy with their appearance radiates energy, confidence and optimism. On the other hand, I also meet clients who come with unrealistic ideas. In such cases, the role of the physician is to not only explain the possibilities, but also the limits. Ethics and honesty are essential for me in this work.

What innovations are you planning for the clinic in the future?

We are always following global trends. However, I insist that I must try everything myself first and attend various conferences and trainings to only bring proven and safe treatments to the clinic. We invest in new technologies and continuously expand our offer with the latest laser devices and procedures in the field of regenerative medicine. My goal is to make sure LaserPlastic remains a place where patients receive the best – expert care, modern technology and a human touch.

And, personally, what are the things you still enjoy about this job after so many years?

The fact that science and medicine are constantly evolving and that I have been educating myself all my life. Today, we commonly perform procedures that would be unthinkable twenty-five years ago, or we can perform them in a much more patient-friendly manner. And also that every day is different. Each patient comes with a different story and I have the opportunity to help them feel better. Whether the help involves their little fight with gravity or easing the signs of time, it always makes me happy to see their smile and sense of satisfaction. That’s the best motivation.
